Indoor Golf Lessons

We are looking to host Indoor Golf Lessons at the Nutrien Sportsplex on Saturday, October 24th. This is a learn to play and open to all you and adults.

 

Cost is $20.00 per hour HOWEVER if you are purchasing a Winter Sportsplex Season Pass or Flex pass we will discount that lesson fee from your membership or flex pass.

 

Instruction will be from local talented golfers with a lot to share!!

Free Fall Outdoor Activity Opportunities

Many of our Bradley Park / Kin Park facilities in recent years were built with the short days of spring and fall in mind.  So when the days get shorter and shorter this fall don’t despair …we have multiple outdoor opportunities open for your enjoyment so long as the weather hangs in there. Here are some of the things you can do to keep active :

Bradley Park

PM Golf World          Is fully lit and affords you the opportunity to use the Driving nets & Putting green

 

Horseshoes               Located at PM Park

 

Disc Golf                   We will leave out a couple hoops at PM Golf Park

 

Park Games              Cornhole , ladder-ball etc.

 

Pickleball                   Outdoor Courts are complete with night lighting which allows evening play on those beautiful fall nights

 

West Point Dog Park         Lights have been installed at the entrance to allow evening usage

 

ODR                           Night lights allow for kids to shoot around , play catch etc.

 

Lending Shed            Open year-round full of equipment to play the above activities

 

 

Kin Park                      Terry Lynd Basketball Court lights available until 10pm.

Mike Schwean Arena – Winter of 2026/2027

We have a planned opening date of Friday, October 9th.  Plant goes on this Monday so the countdown is officially on!!

 

Mike Schwean Arena – Winter of 2026/2027 Upgrades

While 2028 is slated for our major reno project at the MS Arena we have started work on the planned project. Work in the Summer of 2026 includes:

 

• Roof Repairs to lobby ( flashing to stop leaks )

• LED Lighting in Lobby

• LED Lighting in Basement

• LED Lighting over Ice Surface

• LED Night Lighting in Bleachers

• Zamboni painting

• New Boilers

• New Water Holding Tanks

• Extension of paved parking lot

• Basement walls , flooring and showers repainted

Mike Schwean Arena – Winter of 2026/2027

We have begun the scheduling process for the Arena for the winter of 2026/2027. Minor Hockey , Moosomin Skating Club , Sr Rangers and Rec Hockey have already booked in multiple dates. Mike Schwean Arena – 2026/2027 Ice Rates

We have received a few calls looking for our winter ice rates. While we try to be as economical as possible we also hold an obligation to the residents in town. As such as our costs have increased we have bumped our fees to accommodate the costs.

Here are the winter ice fees for the 2026 / 2027 season:

 

 Minor Hockey         $ 130.00 plus tax                                $ 1000 or $100/hr for special events

 Skating Club           $ 130.00 plus tax                                $ 1000 or $100/hr for special events

 Youth Events           $ 130.00 plus tax                                $ 1000 or $100/hr for special events

 Adult                        $ 150.00 plus tax                                Or seasonal                $3,100.00

 Sr Rangers               $ 150.00 plus tax                               

 Sr Rangers Game    $ 160.00 plus tax

 Pre-School Rates     $  65.00 plus tax ( half prime )

 Minor Hockey Tournaments / Special Events $100 / hr to max of $1,000.00

Excited to work with HomeTeam Live again this winter at the MS Arena. Hometeam has plans to update their camera system along with some programming upgrades. Hometeam tells us the camera will be more compact with a higher quality. Watch for details in the coming month.

Our Senior Club meet at our Nutrien Sportsplex year-round however once winter arrives things really pick up!! Membership is $50.00 per year which includes the following days , times and activities…

Thursday Night (CO-ED) Indoor Golf Night

Thursday Night Skins Golf returns in around a months time. Players play for skins each night ( you are not obligated to do so ) as well as points which goes towards the Investors Cup and a spot in a March one day playoff.

 

2026/2027 will have some added fun as we will pick 4 Captains and then assign teams with players on that team playing for points over the winter. Top Team over the winter will receive a complimentary supper to finish off the season and well as some team knicks and knacks.

Cost to play each Thursday is $10.00 for non members plus skins if you choose to do so. Tee times are at 4pm and 6:15pm.

For those looking to book weddings in 2027 or 2028 please take note if booked in the 2026 calendar year we will hold the 2026 pricing. That can become a significant savings!! As well we do sign contracts but do not require a down payment as billings are made at month end after your event!!

MS Arena – 50th Anniversary Renovation Project

 

Parks and Rec are beyond excited as plans continue for our second Arena to open in the fall of 2028 at the former Federated COOP Site.

 

We are equally excited about the major renovation project at the Mike Schwean Arena as 2028/2029 will be the 50th Anniversary !! While many 50-year-old rinks are looking to replaced our post reno rink will be amazing !!

 

This is a phased project with some work performed in the summer of 2026 ….more will be completed in the summer of 2027 and then the bulk of the work completed in the summer of 2028 in time for our 50th Anniversary Puck drop!!

 

Here is what is all planned ….

• Repairs to lobby flat roofing

• LED Lighting in the Lobby

• LED Lighting in the Basement

• LED Lighting over the Ice Surface

We are grateful to the Town of Moosomin , RM of Moosomin and Community Acres for their multi-year commitment to the project. At the same time Parks and Recreation are working hard on major grant funding which we expect to get news on in the next few months.

 

 

Then we are invested in fundraising plans with a couple major announcements which will come over next six months. We would love to make these public now however as is the case there are I’s to dot and t’s to cross before we can go public!!
