Dog and Cat Licensing

To help ensure the health, safety, and welfare of pets and our community, the Town of Moosomin requires that all dogs and cats within town limits be licensed under Bylaw 2003-01.

Who Needs a License

  • Any person who owns, harbours, or keeps a dog or cat within the Town of Moosomin.

  • Dogs or cats above 6 months old.

License Requirements & Tag

  • Once you license your pet, the license remains valid until the pet is no longer within town boundaries or has passed away.

  • Each licensed animal will receive a metal tag which must be attached to a collar and worn at all times.

  • If the tag is lost, a replacement will need to be issued.

  • It is the owner's responsibility to inform the Town of Moosomin if the animal has passed away.

How to Apply

When applying, you will need to provide:

  • Your name, address, and contact information

  • The animal’s name, breed, sex, and any distinguishing colours

  • Whether the animal is spayed or neutered

You can apply by filling out the form below.

Penalties / Fines

  • It is unlawful to keep or harbour an unlicensed dog or cat.
