Land Acknowledgement
The Town of Moosomin acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 2 Territory, the traditional lands of the Nakota, Nehiyaw/Cree, Nahkawe/Saulteaux, and Dakota peoples, and the Homeland of the Métis Nation.

We recognize that this land has been, and continues to be, a place of gathering, teaching, and community for Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. We honour their histories, languages, cultures, and spiritual connections to the land.

We also acknowledge that this area is part of the Homeland of the Métis Nation, whose ancestors and communities have long called this region home.

The Town of Moosomin respects the spirit and intent of Treaty 2, signed in 1871, and recognizes that we are all Treaty people with ongoing rights and responsibilities.

In the spirit of reconciliation, we commit to learning from the past, listening to Indigenous voices, and working together to build relationships of respect, trust, and understanding with Indigenous peoples and communities.
