West Point's Best Friends Dog Park is a great place for dogs and their owners to get fresh air, exercise, and socialize. It’s a space where dogs can run freely and safely — but it’s important to make sure both you and your pet are prepared for the off-leash experience.
Before bringing your dog to the park, make sure they are comfortable around other dogs and people. They should consistently respond to basic commands like come, sit, and stay. If your dog needs extra guidance, obedience classes or training with a certified dog trainer can be helpful.
Owners are responsible for their pets’ behavior. If a dog becomes aggressive or disruptive, the owner must leash their dog (using a leash no longer than two metres) and leave the park to keep the area safe and enjoyable for everyone.
